WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport commuters will face limited Metro-North train service in town and substantial delays for the Monday morning rush hour, Westport police said in a statement issued Sunday.
Train service will be limited from the Saugatuck station (Westport), with no train service at the Greens Farms station, police said.
The changes in Metro-North service are due to Friday's derailment on the Fairfield-Bridgeport border. No trains will be running in that area.
Buses will be used to shuttle riders who commute to Westport from points east, with express buses running from Bridgeport to Stamford for riders who travel to New York City. Commuters from Westport should expect riders from points east to take buses to Westport for local trains.
All bus drop-offs and pickups will be on Railroad Place, police said.
All passengers who are driven to Saugatuck for drop-off will be directed to the Ferry Lane side of the station to allow for bus access on Railroad Place. All pickups will be directed to Ferry Lane as well.
The parking lot off Railroad Place will be open for commuters as well as business patrons until it is filled.
