WESTPORT, Conn. A Norwalk man who worked at the Westport Police Department as an outside contractor was charged with possession of a controlled substance last week after a pill he dropped outside the department was found by the police chief.
Police said Victor Ramirez, 50, dropped a folded piece of paper from his pocket outside the department last Thursday. Chief Dale Call was walking out of the building when he saw Ramirez drop the paper. Call picked up the folded paper and found it contained a yellow pill, later identified as oxycodone, police said.
Police said Ramirez did not have a prescription for the medication and told Call he bought the pill from someone in Norwalk. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 8 and was terminated from his position at the department.
