WESTPORT, Conn. -- An affordable housing effort to build as many as 48 units on two Post Road East lots is moving forward after an amendment regarding lot area and shape was approved by the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission, according to the Westport News.
Richard Redniss, representing the developer for both sites — 785 Post Road East LLC and 1141 Post Road East LLC — told the commission that in order to proceed with redevelopment of the two properties, the changes in language defining lot area and shape were needed, said the Westport News.
The company, Coastal Construction Group, known for high-end development, is planning to use part of the site for office space, said the Westport News. The housing development will include at least 20 percent of residential units that are deemed as "affordable housing" under state guidelines, said the Westport News. The commission will reconvene Feb. 25 to hear Redniss' other requests, added the Westport News.
