Westport Neighbors Notes

WESTPORT, Conn. – October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it seems that people are making a difference either in sports or with little acts of kindness. Panera Bread has launched “Pink Ribbon” bagels, and like many local establishments, it is donating portions of its proceeds to Breast Cancer Awareness. Log onto www.panera.com to learn more about the pink ribbon campaign.

Kimberly Weintraub and Tim Sickinger of Atlantic Residential Mortgage are no strangers to making a difference in their community. The dynamic duo was one of the many generous sponsors of OPUS “Big Rig Gig,” a fun-filled family day bringing the community together. Thanks to Kim, Tim and Atlantic Residential for their generosity. Darien-based OPUS Person to Person is a nonprofit that helps more than 22,000 individuals with limited resources in lower Fairfield County. Please go to www.opus4p2p.org to make a difference in your community.

“Saturday Night Lights Victory” could be the title of a movie about the 6th grade Wreckers’ football victory Saturday over New Canaan Red. Evan Zinn showed off his extraordinary skills as he dashed 90 yards down the field to score one of the many touch downs of the evening. All his teammates played a great game and enjoyed long-awaited victory. Go Wreckers!!

Give a big cheer to Bailey Claffey for making Staples JV cheerleading captain, a role she was born for–“rah, rah, sis boom bah!” Happy Anniversary to Scott and Patti Butler –17 years is a long time in my book–and congratulations to everyone!
