WESTPORT, Conn. Westport resident Timothy Cleary was charged with driving under the influence Friday night after his blood-alcohol level measured more than two times over the legal limit, police say.
Cleary, of 182 Saugatuck Ave., was spotted by police after he passed through a stop sign at Treadwell Avenue and Indian Hill Road, police say. Later, Cleary turned onto Saugatuck Avenue, where he was twice seen crossing the double yellow centerlines. Once Cleary, 50, was stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath.
Cleary failed field sobriety tests. The results were 0.217 and 0.212. The legal blood-alcohol limit is 0.08. In addition to driving under the influence, he was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane and stop sign violation. He was released after posting $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 12.

? Richard Morrow of Norwalk was arrested in Westport on Friday morning after he was spotted driving erratically on Riverside Avenue, police said. Morrow, 29, crossed the double yellow several times before he eventually turned onto Sylvan Road South, police said. When Morrow was stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath.
He failed field sobriety tests. The results were 0.136 and 0.133. The legal blood-alcohol limit is 0.08. He was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and failure to drive right. He was released after posting $500 bond and is due in court Sept. 14.
