WESTPORT, Conn. Westport resident Glenn DeLuca was arrested Monday night after he violated a protective order and fought with officers, police said.
The woman who filed the protective order against DeLuca went to his home at 32 Morningside Drive N. and the two got into an argument. When the woman was ready to go, police said DeLuca, 48, grabbed her by the arm, preventing her from leaving. She was then pushed or fell to the ground, police said. The protective order states DeLuca is not to harass, abuse or have any contact with the victim.
During the altercation, DeLuca struck the driver's side door of the woman's car as she tried to get in, leaving a dent, police said. When officers arrived, DeLuca was seen pulling the woman's arm while she was on the ground. When asked by officers to release her, police said DeLuca didn't listen. He began to fight with officers and resisted being handcuffed.
DeLuca was charged with interfering with officers, third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, second-degree unlawful restraint and criminal violation of a protective order. He was held on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
