WESTPORT, Conn. Westport resident Allan Cockrane, 44, was charged with driving under the influence Saturday morning after he was spotted driving erratically, police said.
Cockrane, of 3 Country Road, was traveling north on Riverside Avenue near the intersection of Sylvan Road South when his car was seen weaving in and out of the traffic lane and crossing the double yellow centerlines, police said. When Cockrane was stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath.
Cockrane failed field sobriety tests and his blood-alcohol was measured at .138 and .128. The legal limit is .08. In addition to driving under the influence, he was charged with failure to drive right and failure to carry a license. He was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 3.

A house on Richmondville Avenue was burglarized on Sept. 19. Police said the burglar entered the home by smashing a basement window. Cash, medications and jewelry were reported stolen. No arrests have yet been made.
