WESTPORT, Conn. Westport resident Jamal Washington was arrested Friday on four warrants charging him in a string of December home burglaries that took place in the Saugatuck section of town, police said.
Washington, of Hiawatha Lane, is suspected in the burglaries at 4 Burritts Landing North; 9 Burritts Landing North; 17 Burritts Landing South; and 2 Judy Point Lane. These burglaries were reported between Dec. 10 and Dec. 19, police said. In two of the Burritts Landing cases, the homeowners were inside sleeping, police said.
Washington, 25, was charged with three counts of sixth-degree larceny, two counts of second-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny and third-degree burglary. He was held on multiple bonds and scheduled to appear in court later that day.
Last month, a 20-year-old Stamford woman turned herself in to Westport police on a warrant charging her with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny in one of the burglaries.
