Don't let expired, unused, and unwanted prescription medications take up space in your cabinets. Instead, hand them over to Westport police for proper disposal no questions asked.
This Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Westport Police Department, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, is holding a prescription drug take-back. This is the second take-back event since September.
If you have expired, unused, and unwanted prescription medications, simply drive to the rear parking lot of Town Hall and drop them off in a container. This service is free and anonymous. All medications turned in will be properly disposed of by the DEA.
During the first take-back event held last September, 242,000 pounds121 tonsof prescription drugs were turned in at nearly 4,100 sites nationwide.
