Westport Hosts Meeting On Golf Course Maintenance

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport Parks and Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy has announced that the public is invited to meet the key managers of ValleyCrest Golf Maintenance on Wednesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall auditorium.

VallyCrest is entering the second year of a relationship to maintain the 18-hole municipal golf course at Longshore Club Park. This will be an opportunity for Longshore golfers to meet with the team at ValleyCrest and recently appointed golf course superintendent Michael Golden.

Golden will be joined by John Crowder, ValleyCrest vice president of business development; Trey Rogers, consulting agronomist; Vince Gilmartin, Northeast director of maintenance operations; and Edward “Ted” Horton, senior superintendent.

They will address current course conditions and plans for the future.

“We know Longshore golfers are looking forward to hearing ValleyCrest’s plans for following up on the terrific success of their inaugural season at Longshore.” said McCarthy.
