WESTPORT, Conn. -- An opportunity for Westport residents to securely dispose of sensitive and confidential papers is coming via a community paper shredding event.
Westport Weston Health District will hold the seventh annual Public Shred Day on May 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. Proof of Westport residency is required
"This event helps insure protection against identity theft, in addition to spring cleaning file cabinets," said First Selectman Jim Marpe. All shredded material will be recycled.
Each car will be charged $5 and can shred three boxes measuring 12 inches by 18 inches or eight paper bags per household.
Westport Weston Health District is at 180 Bayberry Lane.
