WESTPORT, Conn. Stealing is never a good idea. But stealing from your employer, as Westport Stop & Shop employee Kelly Duval is accused of doing, really isn't wise.
Duval, 26, of Bridgeport, was arrested Tuesday night after she was caught by the store's loss prevention department making $50 in fraudulent refunds, police said. She was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear in court July 15.
Also from the police blotter:
Norwalk resident Thomas Holeyfield was arrested in Westport early Friday after officers received a call about a suspicious person knocking on the door of a Belaire Drive home. Holeyfield, 28, was spotted on the road by police, and a computer check revealed there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant, police said, stemmed from a September 2009 third-degree criminal mischief charge in Norwalk that he failed to appear in court on. Holeyfield was charged second-degree failure to appear and held on $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court July 11.
