WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Board of Finance recently approved a $112.6 million budget for 2016-17 and has endorsed a $204 million spending package, according to the Westport News.
Combined with the $91.4 million in city budget figures, the two combined show a 1 percent increase from last year, said the Westport News. The education budget increase is 1.3 compared to last year's, according to the Westport News. One of the main drivers behind the increases is building maintenance, said the Westport News.
The budget will be reviewed during a Representative Town Meeting before its final approval, added the Westport News.
