WESTON, Conn. – Do you have a collection of great photos of Weston? If so, the town might want to use them for its new website.
Weston plans to roll out its new town website this summer. Part of the site will be a gallery of photos taken around town, which will be updated seasonally to correspond with the weather. The town is asking residents to submit copies of some of their own favorite photos.
“They can be of nature, interesting buildings, historic buildings, our churches, ball fields, parks, a beautiful street with fall leaves, rivers, ponds, turkeys, deer,” the town’s website says. “Really, anything showing what a beautiful place Weston is.”
The photos can be sent either digitally as a JPEG file or printed out. Printed photos will not be returned, so residents are advised to send copies so they don’t lose their own photos. Photographers will be credited in a list on the website but not on individual photos.
The town will not be able to use photos with children if the photo is close enough to their faces for them to be identified. Long-distance shots may be allowable if a face is not recognizable.
Photos must be horizontally oriented to be included in the main gallery on the front page. Vertical shots may be accepted for other seasonal galleries throughout the year, the website says.
For more information, visit the town’s current website or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
