Weston Waiting Until Morning To Make Decision On Memorial Day Parade

WESTON, Conn. — Officials in Weston are hoping for an improved weather forecast for Monday as they prepare for the town's annual Memorial Day parade.

The weather forecast for Monday calls for rain and possible thunderstorms. 

"Just so we are all prepared, here are the parade plans in case of rain/storms," the Weston Volunteer Fire Department said. The "parade was canceled for rain only once in living memory. ... Rain cancellation decision will be made Monday morning at 9 a.m." 

Residents can call 203-222-2641 after 9 a.m. Monday for details. 

If the parade is canceled, the gazebo presentations will be made instead in the Town Hall meeting room at 11:30 a.m.

Weather permitting, the parade is currently scheduled to step off at 10:45 a.m. Monday on School Street. The town fair is also scheduled to from noon to 4 p.m. Monday at Hurlbutt Elementary School.
