WESTON, Conn. -- In an effort to provide more room for the Weston Police Department, the town Board of Selectmen is looking into purchasing the Guidera property for $710,000, according to the Weston Forum.
The town is moving forward with a purchase option agreement for $1 that would give it until July 1 to make a decision on buying the property at Norfield and Weston roads. If the town purchases the house, the Police Department could take over the space at Town Hall, said the Weston Forum.
A purchase would preserve a historic location, the town could move the selectmen, administrative assistants, the town finance offices and the town administrator’s office to the property, added the Weston Forum.
