Weston Outages Actually Rise Overnight

WESTON, Conn. – It looks like the power restoration that began Wednesday night in Weston was short lived. Connecticut Light & Power report Thursday morning that 29 percent of Weston customers were still without power, an increase from Wednesday night.

According to CL&P’s website, of the 3,806 Weston customers served by the utility, 1,113 were still without power Thursday morning compared with 975 Wednesday night.

Katie Blint, spokesperson for CL&P, said Thursday the increase could be the result of the restoration work itself. She said that as crews work on restoring power, in many cases they may have to shut power off in others areas in order for crews to work safely.

CL&P, Blint said, has a goal of restoring 99 percent of power statewide by Sunday at midnight. For Weston, she said, 99 percent restoration is expected to be completed by Saturday at 11 p.m.
