WESTON, Conn. Jose Palacios of Weston was arrested for the third time in town on charges of operating a motor vehicle under suspension after a two-car accident at Weston and Norfield roads June 20.
Palacios' passenger, a pregnant female, was in pain and trapped in the vehicle when police arrived. Weston EMS went to the scene and transported her to Norwalk Hospital.
Both vehicles had been moved before police arrived. Palacios was eastbound on Norfield Road, approaching Weston Road, while Ava Diapice of Weston was northbound on Weston Road approaching the same intersection at about 10:55 p.m. Palacios had a blinking red light, and Diapice had a blinking yellow light.
Palacios' vehicle sustained heavy right side damage. Police said it appeared the collision took place in the middle of the intersection, indicating that Palacios failed to yield and was struck by Diapice.
Palacios was charged with operating under suspension and failure to obey a traffic control device.
