Weston Library Closed June 6 & 7 For Construction

WESTON, Conn. -- Library patrons will want to know that the Weston Library will be closed to the public on Monday, June 6, and Tuesday, June 7, so the library staff can move to its temporary location in the Community Room due to upcoming construction, according to the Weston Forum.

The Weston Library will undergo major renovations this summer to make the building more user-friendly.

Library officials said the construction is set to begin June 6. Gennarini Construction from Bridgeport will be the general contractors. All operations will be set up in the Community Room and will have normal operating hours throughout the renovation. Because of the construction, about one-fourth of the library's collection will be available, said the Weston Forum.

Regularly scheduled programs (Toddle Time, book groups, New Yorker roundtables) have been relocated with information available at the library at 203-222-2665. The space is being remodeled to make it more user-friendly and energy-efficient. Construction is expected to last throughout the summer, the Weston Forum said.
