WESTON, Conn. – An art exhibit that gives residents a rare glimpse into the early farming history of the Weston Lachat property has been extended through Feb. 28 at the Weston Library .

“The Celebration of Farms and Farming” exhibit, which is sponsored by Friends of Lachat, includes Lachat Farm images never before seen by the public. Several photos of the Lachat family, the Lachat barn and Godfrey Pond will also be on display. The farm was built by David Godfrey in 1770.

Weston artists showing their work include Margaret Wirtenberg, Auddrey Klotz, Andy Neilly, Bobbie Eike Mullen, Ginger Jespersen, Ellin Spadone, Laura Wilk, Liz Ward and Georgiana Silk. Some of the historical paintings of the Lachat Farm will be on loan from Alex Shook and Carolyn Blackburn Klahr. Original photographs, on loan from Juliana Lachat and Jeff Wilkens, will also be on display.

Friends of Lachat hope to raise funds for the restoration and preservation of the Juliana Lachat Preserve and farmhouse.

The exhibit can been seen in the libary's community room at 56 Norfield Road. Anyone interested in purchasing any of the works can call Jespersen at 203-227-0514.
