Weston GOP Town Committee Names New Members

WESTON, Conn. – Five Weston Republicans have been appointed to fill vacancies on the Weston Republican Town Committee.

“This presidential election year is invigorating the party, evidenced by the outstanding new members we have attracted,” said Chair Britta Lerner. “The new recruits bring a variety of strengths, which will help our message reach voters all across the spectrum.” 

The new recruits include:

? Dawn Rivera, a Weston native and corporate finance professional who has served on the Weston Newcomers Club and Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.  

? Thomas Capola, an asset management entrepreneur with vast financial experience. Capola has lived in Weston for six years with his wife and four children. 

? Weston newcomer Carole Berg, who has a teaching and real estate background and belongs to the Fairfield Tea Party. 

? Glenn Van Duesen, who was recently elected an alternate for the Zoning Board of Appeals. He is an entrepreneur whose community activities include Kiwanis, Weston Warmup Fund, AmeriCares and the Prevent Blindness America Board. 

? Theresa Brasco, who has worked for the Federal Reserve. Since 2001, she has assisted in compiling financial and management reports to town boards and also serves as deputy Republican registrar.
