WESTON, Conn. -- Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 6, the Weston Food Pantry will have a new board of directors and new operating guidelines, according to the Weston Forum.
The pantry, which provides free nonperishable food to those in need, will now have locked doors and set hours, instead of its past open door policy, Anne Begin, the pantry's new president, told the Weston Forum.
In addition, the pantry will have a two-bag per week limit to help serve more than 100 local families, the Forum added.
The new hours will be Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Drop-off hours will be Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m, the Weston Forum said.
