WESTPORT, Conn. -- David Waldman, the developer in the Bedford Square project, has proposed a land swap to the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission, according to the Westport News.
The project envisions a 70,000-square-foot mixed-use development, complete with 24 apartments and retail space, the Westport News reported. The land-swap proposal would exchange part of the town's Baldwin parking lot for a newly-created parking area in the development.
"The message is that you’re getting positive feedback with the caveat that there are a lot of questions to answer," Chairman Chip Stephens said, according to the Westport News story. "The questions are what the burden of the town takes on with the parking lot. There are concerns on what the town has to throw toward this."
