Video: Building A Sand Wall At Compo Beach

WESTPORT, Conn. – With 13- to 15-foot waves expected to impact Westport during Hurricane Sandy, bulldozers completed a sand berm along Compo Beach on Sunday.

The wall of sand, which begins at the cannons and stretches across the beach along Soundview Drive, is meant to provide some protection to residents in that area by blocking the waves.

Dozens of people gathered Sunday on Soundview Drive afternoon and watched as the bulldozers pushed and piled the sand, molding it into the wall.
