UPDATE: Woman Hit by SUV ID'd; Driver Charged

The woman hit by an SUV while crossing Post Road East at Parker Harding Plaza in front of Starbucks on Tuesday morning has been identified as Westport resident Lisa Kim, 32.

Westport Police Capt. Sam Arciola said the driver, whom he did not identify, is being charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

According to reports, Kim was in the crosswalk when the SUV turned left out of Parker Harding Plaza onto Post Road East and hit her around 9:30 a.m. She was transported to Norwalk Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Kim is the third pedestrian to be struck by a car while crossing Post Road East since last December. Westport resident Sharon Broecking, 62, was fatally struck by a car as she crossed Post Road East at Westfair Drive on Dec. 21. Stamford resident Ira Leonard Eisner died on Dec. 26 from injuries he received after being hit by a car while crossing Post Road East near Restoration Hardware on Dec. 11.
