Two drivers involved in a three-car crash near 49 Weston Road in Westport Monday night were hospitalized.
At 7:53 p.m., the Westport Fire Department responded to the call. Upon arrival, firefighters were met by Westport police and EMS workers. Working together, two of the three drivers were removed from their cars, treated, and later transported to Norwalk Hospital, Assistant Chief Robert Kepchar reported.
The third driver involved was evaluated on scene and refused transport to the hospital.
Weston Road, in the vicinity of the accident, was shut down for about two and a half hours while police investigated the accident. Westport Firefighters provided lighting throughout and remained at the scene until the vehicles were towed. The last fire unit left the scene at 10:17 p.m.
