The Jaws of Life were used Monday afternoon after a serious three-car accident on Easton Road at North Avenue.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m., the Westport Fire Department was alerted of the accident by citizens at the Coleytown Fire Station. A command car responded, notifying dispatch of the accident on the way to the scene, Assistant Chief Robert Yost said in a statement.
Firefighters from Rescue Company 3, Coleytown and headquarters also responded.
Two victims in the crash were transported to Norwalk Hospital by Westport EMS for treatment. One of the victims had to be removed from the vehicle using the hydraulic Jaws of Life tool.
Easton Road was closed until 2:30 p.m. while police investigated the accident.
