Yes, Tractor Mac will be there on Saturday. He just got a brand new hood and hes pretty excited about that, Steers said during a phone interview Thursday.
A Connecticut native, Steers has written nine books in the series and has sold more than 150,000 copies. The books were inspired by bedtime stories that he created for his sons in which Steers tells of the adventures of their red toy tractor.
It has been really fun to watch it grow, Steers said.
The first Tractor Mac book was published in 1999, and Steers said a new adventure will be released in the spring. Some of the books include Tractor Mac Arrives at the Farm, Tractor Mac Learns to Fly, Tractor Mac Saves Christmas, Tractor Mac Farmers Market, and his latest creation, Tractor Mac Tune Up.
Steers will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. While there, Westonites can also check out the fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, maple syrup, dairy products, soaps and meats, from local Connecticut vendors.
The market is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Norfield Grange , 12 Good Hill Road.
