A domestic dispute between Westport resident David Pogue, a columnist for The New York Times, and his wife Jennifer ended with their arrests Monday night.
Police said the Pogues allegedly became physical following a verbal disagreement that started after Jennifer showed up at the couples home at 18 Woody Lane to see their three children. The couple is reportedly going through a divorce and has set up visitation agreements. David, 48, told police that Jennifer, 47, began recording their argument on her iPhone. When he went to take the phone away from her, he claims she bit him.
Jennifer told police that she was lying on the bed, reading a book, when David came in, grabbed her iPhone, and began hitting her in the head with it, police said. She also told police she bit Davids arm in self-defense.
Police said both David and Jennifer showed signs of injuries at the time of the arrest. They were each charged with disorderly conduct and released on a promise to appear in court May 17.
