Three drivers involved in a four-car crash on I-95 north between exits 18 and 19 were hospitalized Friday afternoon.
Shortly after 3 p.m., the Westport Fire Department responded to the accident. Upon arrival, firefighters tended to the injured before they were turned over to Westport EMS and American Medical Response personnel for further evaluation, Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kepchar reported.
The three injured drivers were sent to St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport. Car fluids spilled in the accident were cleaned up by firefighters. The last Westport fire unit left the accident scene at 3:52 p.m.
State police are investigating the cause of the accident.
