REDDING, Conn. -- The Connecticut Department of Transportation will begin rehabilitation work on a bridge on Route 53 in the town of Redding on Wednesday, April 1.
The project consists of the replacement of the concrete bridge deck and associated parapets. New metal beam rail and pavement along with other minor safety improvements will also be completed.
The contract was awarded last month to Dayton Construction Co., Inc. at a cost of $425,295. Work is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 8.
After April 1, motorists should expect delays on Route 53 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers or temporary traffic signals.
