Slow Driver Slapped With DUI in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport resident Anita Lopker was charged with drunken driving after she was spotted driving well under the speed limit, police said.

Lopker, of 18 Burr Road, was clocked driving between 15 and 20 mph on Post Road East last Wednesday night. Police said the posted speed limit was 35 mph. When Lopker, 56, was stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on her breath.

She failed field sobriety tests and submitted to a urine test instead of breath tests. She was released after posting a $500 bond and is due in court Dec. 8.

• Woodbury resident Thomas Zukauskas, 40, was arrested in Westport last Wednesday morning after he apparently entered his ex-girlfriend's apartment by climbing through an open window, police said. The ex-girlfriend was home at the time. He was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting $500 bond and was due in court Nov. 25.
