Signup Postponed for Westport Summer Programs

WESTPORT, Conn. – Online registration for summer programs in Westport will resume Thursday after technical difficulties Monday postponed the process, Parks and Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy announced.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Monday, the online service that manages registration for the Parks and Recreation Department went offline, McCarthy said.

“Once the service interruption exceeded a reasonable time for restoration, the Parks and Recreation Department made the decision, in fairness to all customers, to suspend program registration,” McCarthy said.

Residents will be able to register for all programs beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, McCarthy said. Registrations completed before the system failure and confirmed with a receipt will be honored.

Any customer unsure whether his or her transaction was completed can view their account history online or call the Parks and Recreation Department at 203-341-5090 to verify the status of a transaction.

Registrations that were in progress at the time of the system failure, including those with items in the shopping cart, have not been completed. Customers who had transactions in progress must log in and begin the transaction from the beginning.

“The Parks and Recreation Department staff apologizes for the great inconvenience customers suffered as a result of the system failure,” McCarthy said. “We will be working diligently with our software partner to avoid similar failure in the future, and we look forward to the opportunity to continuing to serve you and your family.”
