Sherwood Island Partially Closed To Swimming

WESTPORT, Conn. – The east end of Sherwood Island State Park in Westport was closed to swimming Wednesday due to poor water quality, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Rocky Neck State Park in Niantic and Silver Sands State Park in Milford were closed to swimming as well. An announcement on the DEEP website said recent heavy rainfalls are to blame for poor water quality.

The water at each of these three parks is scheduled for re-testing Wednesday.
