WESTON, Conn. Weston's information technology director wants the town to spend more than $17,000 to get new software to manage land-use permits.
The town's Board of Selectman Thursday unanimously approved the request, which needs final approval from the Board of Finance. The finance board may consider the request at its Jan. 12 meeting.
The company the town previously used, Black Bear, has gone out of business, said Sharon Shattuck, Weston's IT director. SCA, a software company based in Red Hook, N.J., can can convert the old software into a new program, Shattuck said.
The town's planning and zoning, code enforcement and conservation agencies are among those that will use the program.
