Easton has many narrow, windy roads. But the one that is the most dangerous is town is Black Rock Turnpike Route 58 where 235 accidents have occurred since 2003.
"None of the roads are dangerous if you drive slowly," said Howard Collis of Easton. "You have to go slowly on those windy, back roads. You have to think that when you make the turn, there may be somebody running there."
Diane Louw, who has a child that attends Easton Country Day, said turning into the school on Morehouse Road is dangerous.
Accidents on Route 58 account for more than 17 percent of all of Easton's accidents since 2003. The road sees a lot of traffic with drivers coming to and from Fairfield.
In February, a Bridgeport man was sent to the hospital after another driver slid on black ice and struck his vehicle near Center Road on Route 58.
In July 2004, a 20-year-old Redding woman was killed in a one-car accident near Country Club Lane. In 2008, a 23-year-old Fairfield man was killed in a crash at routes 58 and 136. A toddler, who was not in a car seat, was thrown from the car and died on Route 58. An Arizona Iced Tea truck was involved in an accident by Center Road and Route 58.
The movie " Reservation Road ," starring Mark Ruffalo and Joaquin Phoenix, is based on an accident that kills a young boy. It was filmed on Route 58 in Easton in front of the Blue Bird Inn.
