Road Paving Continues

Weston's road paving program, which began June 21, will continue Tuesday with Old Hyde Road, according to Town Administrator Tom Landry.

The road, which was milled last week, was scheduled to be paved Monday, but construction had to be pushed back. "They were supposed to start paving today, but the weather didn't permit that," said Landry, referring to large thunderstorms and hail that struck the area throughout the day.

Paving on Steep Hill Road, Good Hill extension and a small portion of Godfrey Road is now completed and those roads are open to traffic, although the lines have not yet been striped. Drivers are asked to use caution and allow extra time for travel.

The resurfacing of Old Hyde, the final road to be paved this month, is being paid for largely with federal stimulus money.
