WESTPORT, Conn. – The Bridge Street swing bridge over the Saugatuck River in Westport will be closed Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff announced.
The bridge, known officially as the William F. Cribari Memorial Bridge, will be closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic to allow for the installation of new mechanical components, Joseloff said.
Signs and markings for detour routes will be posted, he added.
Mechanical and electric components of the bridge were damaged during Hurricane Sandy. The bridge has been undergoing repairs since February.
