Paul Amble said his opinions about murder suspect Gregory Weathers were based on a “loose diagnosis,” reached after a three-hour interview with the 34-year-old and conversations with his wife and friends, according to the Post, which reported that police had previously testified that Weathers appeared after the shooting to have the appearance of someone under the influence of PCP.
Weathers has admitted to shooting Jose Araujo, 31, while seeking a job at a Chopsey Hill Road construction site on March 26, 2015, but has claimed that he was suffering from a mental condition at the time, according to the Post.
Weathers is charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, stealing a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.
