Primary Polling Location Changed

Polling for the state's Aug. 10 primary has been moved to the Weston Intermediate School, due to asbestos removal at the middle school, according to First Selectman Gayle Weinstein.

Construction on the roof of the middle school, where the polling was originally set to take place, revealed there was an asbestos problem.

The registrars of voters will have a special session on Tuesday, July 27 from noon to 2 p.m. so that eligible voters may register if they have not already done so.

The polls will be open to only registered Republicans and Democrats on Aug. 10 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. U.S. citizens who reside in Connecticut and will be 18 before the Nov. 2 election are allowed to register for the primary any day between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Mail-in forms and absentee ballots are available at Town Hall or on the secretary of state's website or on the Weston town website.

New voter applications sent by mail must be postmarked by Aug. 5 and received by Aug. 9. The last day to register for a party is Aug. 9.
