WESTPORT, Conn. It may be a few days until all of Westport recovers from Saturday's pre-Halloween nor'easter. In a Code Red emergency phone message, Deputy Fire Chief Jon Gottfried said Connecticut Light & Power crews were working with the Public Works Department to clear downed trees and power lines.
"The focus of CL&P is to clear blocked roads and downed primary transmission lines," Gottfried said in the 11:30 a.m. message. "Individual service lines to residents may not be repaired for a number of days."
Resident who are without power are urged to call CL&P at 1-800-286-2000 to register their location, Gottfried said. In addition to the Westport Weston Family Y, the Westport Senior Center and Westport Library are open as warming and charging stations.
As of 1:30 p.m., 2,795 Westport CL&P customers were without power.
