WESTPORT, Conn. The driver of a Nissan pickup truck that smashed into a utility pole on Clapboard Hill Road in Westport on Monday morning was no where to be found when police and firefighters arrived at the scene, Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kepchar reported.
The accident was reported shortly before 7:20 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they checked for spilled fluids and prepared the pickup for towing by disconnecting the battery, Kepchar said.
Westport police were investigating the accident.
