“I am very proud of the work our staff and contracting partners have done to get us to this point,” Family Y CEO Rob Reeves said in a statement. “It’s been four weeks of cleaning up, drying out and undertaking the many complex tasks involved with getting our facility back in working order.”

The following areas and programs will be open Friday: ? All locker rooms ? Stauffer pool ? Upper level of the Fitness Center ? Upper gym ? Racquet courts ? Gymnastic Center ? Dance Center Studio ? Spinning Room ? Bedford Room

The Child Care Center, located on the lower level of the Bedford Building, experienced severe flood damage and is still undergoing renovations, the statement said. Although it is not known when the center will reopen, Y officials are hopeful repairs will be completed by the end of next week. Once the work is done, the Y will seek approval for the permits needed to resume providing child care services.

The infant and toddler rooms on the main floor of the Bedford Building will be ready to open Monday.

The lower level of the Fitness Center will remain closed until next week, as will the Brophy pool, which was refilled Tuesday.

The facility will be temporarily powered by two external generators until repairs to its main electric switch gear are complete. Once that happens, the system must be reconnected to the municipal power grid, according to the statement.

To celebrate its reopening, the Y is hosting a welcome back party Dec. 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of Christ & Holy Trinity Church, 75 Church Lane. All are invited to attend.
