NY Man Charged With Rx Possession in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A Bronx, N.Y., man was arrested in Westport and charged with possession of narcotics after he was pulled over for a traffic violation, police said.

Jose Andrickson was stopped on Post Rod West after he was spotted crossing the double yellow lines, police said. In speaking with Andrickson, the officer smelled marijuana coming from inside the car, police said. A search of the car turned up a prescription bottle with the label ripped off, police said. It was filled with 22 white pills later identified as Vicodin, police said.

Andrickson, 44, told the officer he was a dentist and the pills were his, according to the report. He also reportedly told the officer that he gives the pills to a patient whenever she needs them.

In addition to possession of narcotics, Andrickson was charged with failure to keep narcotics in original container. He was released after posting $500 bond and is due in court March 6.
