Norwalk Man Charged In Westport December Burglary

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 20-year-old Norwalk man is facing felony charges in Westport for his involvement in a December home burglary, police said.

Jaequann Gilbert of Main Avenue in Norwalk is accused of participating in the burglary of a Greens Farms Road home Dec. 8, police said. The burglary happened while the home owners were on vacation, police said.

When the home owners returned Dec. 14, they discovered two cars had been stolen, along with jewelry, TVs and other electronics, according to the police report. Police said entry was made into the home through a smashed window.

Gilbert was arrested Jan. 9 on a warrant and charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny, both felonies. He was released after posting a $15,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Friday.
