NORWALK, Conn. — A Norwalk man killed while jogging Saturday was loved by everyone he worked with, according to a man who called The Daily Norwalk Monday.

Kenneth James Dorsey, 44, worked at OEM Controls Inc. in Shelton for more than 22 years and worked part-time as an event chef at Watson's Catering of Greenwich, according to an obituary posted by Abriola Parkview Funeral Home. "He was the greatest guy, the nicest guy in the world," said the man, who would only identify himself as Charlie.

"You would go to work and he would just make you laugh," said Charlie, who said he worked with Dorsey at Watson's Catering and considered him a friend, even if they didn't see each other often. "He was silly and funny, a kid at heart. It's really a tragedy."

Dorsey was born in Bridgeport on Jan. 19, 1968, the son of Leo and Marlene Klembara Dorsey. He was a 1986 graduate of Shelton High School and a 2005 graduate of the Center for Culinary Arts in Shelton.

Dorsey was an avid New York Yankees fan. There is a Yankees t-shirt pinned to a telephone pole where he was hit Saturday, as well as a sympathy card created by children.

Survivors include his companion, Dawn Jeffrey of Norwalk; a brother, Matthew Dorsey of Florida; a sister, Jennifer Gaito, and her husband, Robert, of Shelton; two nieces, aunts and uncles, a great-uncle, several cousins and his friend and former wife, Kathleen Dorsey of Seymour.

His funeral will be held Thursday in Milford.

Charlie was surprised to hear that Dorsey was 44 – he had thought Dorsey was 10 years younger. "He was a youthful guy, fun-loving, sweet – the best," he said.

Commentors to The Daily Norwalk agreed.

"He always had a way to make you smile, no matter how bad the day seemed," wrote khern, who said she worked with Dorsey. "I am deeply saddened by his death, and words cannot express my sorrow for the family. The worst part is not having the opportunity to say goodbye."

"Anyone who knew Kenny loved him," wrote CTguy1. "He was so much fun to work with. He always had a good joke and the best laugh. If you were in a lousy mood, Kenny always made you feel better. He'll be missed."

I understand what Tim is saying. I just think he may sound alittle harsh at a time when Kenneth's friends and family are grieving. When jogging on main or busy roads, always jog "against" traffic, never with traffic. This way cars see you, and you see them. I don't know what went wrong here but my heart goes out to his family, friends, and loved ones. Life is truly short. We are here today and gone tomorrow. Treat people the way you want people to treat you. Regardless of the road, Kenneth did not know going for his jog that morning would end his life. He was called home. He is an angel now. None of us are here forever. Everyone and everything has an expiration date. Kenneth is in a better place. The good always die young!!

To Tim T. ----

Will you, for the love of God, FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO?!?! Please!!

Do you not have anything better to do than to scan these articles about my friend, Ken..... and keep spewing your rants and your opinion that he shouldn't have been jogging on New Canaan Avenue? "Oh Oh! Chief Rilling agrees with me! Oh oh!" So... the F...what!! It was a terrible, terrible accident - regardless of whose fault it was! Those of us that knew and loved Ken are heartbroken over the loss of him as our friend, son, brother, uncle, cousin, companion, etc.

I would rather take this unfortunate accident and turn it into something positive. Let's GET sidewalks. Let's crack down on people that are driving distracted. Let's do what we can to help save the lives of others so that their families and friends don't have to go through what we, as Ken's friends and family, are going through right now.

Everyone on these articles has seen your opinion over....and over....and over again. We know where you stand on this. Can you please stop so that those of us that knew Ken can remember him as the sweet, goofy, fun-loving, crazy, awesome person that he was and not have to continue seeing your rants about how he was wrong for being out for a jog in the wrong place at the wrong time? Please?

Thank you.

AMEN!

Tim T,

You are a social misfit. A man was killed just days ago and you feel the need to act self important and give your little opinion, so you can be heard? even if it hurts the feeling of those who loved Ken? Grow up get out of your mom's basement, find a girl to kiss and stop leaving your little post. Get a real life, please.

Ducadrive:

Did you read all Tim T's other complaints about everything?
This dude cries like a sissy! Nobody listens to the fool. He has nothing better to do than to complain about everything! Out of 5000 comments he made, he never said anything good about anyone. He cries about the police, the mayor, and the people of Norwalk.
I'm sure he's the fat bald miserable guy who lives in his parents basement.
What a joke!

ConcernedAmerican:

What a sad end to a wonderful life. As an avid runner myself, I have had many close calls. I hope people who hear this heartbreaking story this think twice before driving distracted.

Tim T:

I also hope that runners that read this do not run on the road. Instead they should be running at the gym, beach, track, sidewalk and so on. Even chief Rilling today said on channel 12 news that New Cannon ave is not a road to be running on.

lwitherspoon:

Still very inappropriate, insensitive, and way too soon to be saying anything like this, especially after the horrible and factually incorrect comments you made yesterday.

Tim T:

It seems chief Rilling agrees with what I have been saying all along.
So lwitherspoon
Is Chief Rilling also
"Still very inappropriate, insensitive, and way too soon to be saying anything like this, especially after the horrible and factually incorrect comments you made yesterday."
Seems to me lwitherspoon that once again you have egg on your face.

Norwalk’s police chief agreed, saying New Canaan Avenue is unsafe for pedestrians. “That road, in my opinion, is not meant for jogging,” Harry Rilling said. “I'm not saying the road is not safe because there's not a lot of accidents on that road, certainly not a lot of pedestrian situations. But it's not a safe road to be a pedestrian. There are no sidewalks.”

Tim T:

You have described your post from yesterday perfectly. Thank you for the information.. Jogging on New Cannon Ave is very unsafe and this is per chief Riling on channel 12 news, The road is made for vehicles not pedestrians that why we have sidewalks.
