North Avenue Bridge In Westport Closes For Construction Wednesday

WESTPORT, Conn. -- The North Avenue Bridge will be closed to all traffic Wednesday from 10 p.m. to about 3 a.m. for construction work.

Detour notices will be in place, and residents are urged to seek alternate routes.

The state Department of Transportation has been engaged in a major repair project on the North Avenue Bridge, which crosses the Merritt Parkway since early 2015.

Currently, the bridge is limited to alternating single-lane traffic controlled by a traffic signal.
