The drivers and occupants involved in a four-car crash on the Merritt Parkway south between Westport and Norwalk escaped without serious injuries Saturday.
Shortly before 1 p.m., the Westport Fire Department was called to the accident scene between exits 41 and 40. Upon arrival, firefighters evaluated injuries and assessed damage. The patients turned over to Westport EMS for further evaluation refused hospital treatment, Assistant Chief Robert Kepchar said.
Fluids spilled in the crash were cleaned from the roadway. The last fire unit left the scene by 1:50 p.m.
