Stratford resident Ashley Loomis was charged in the burglary a Westport home April 22 in which nearly $50,000 in cash and jewelry was taken. Westport police detectives arrested Loomis, 26, at her home Monday.
According to published reports, the estimated value of the stolen property is $48,000. It was also reported that Loomis is the niece of one of the homeowners. Loomis is charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny. She is being held at York Correctional Institution in Niantic on $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 5.
