New Manager Takes Charge in Easton Store

Right after George Kocadag hung up the phone at the Easton Village Store on Friday afternoon, it started ringing again. The line at the cash register was three people deep, and another four people were in the sandwich line.

Kocadag was just finishing his second week as the Easton Village Store's new manager.

"He's very friendly," said Deborah Kelly, who comes to the store at least two times each week.

Kocadag came to Easton from a deli in Newtown. He moved to the United States in 1991 from Turkey, where he studied culinary arts. He has been in the deli business since he moved to this country.

After two weeks, he has come to enjoy the customers that come through the store. He hopes to discuss adding Mediterranean-style items to the menu with the owners. Kocadag had trouble picking his favorite item off of the menu but finally settled on the chicken salad with walnuts and cranberries.
